A Constant Memory

Tree, it stands

Among the bustling

World moves quickly

But the tree

It does not move

Snow may fall

Rain may pour

It’s always there

A child is born

When the tree is young

They grow together

Children learn to walk

A tree watches closely

School begins

The tree waves as the bus

Departs

Reading comes naturally

Just as acorns fall

A child’s first love

Moving away

Getting married

Having kids

Where did that child go?

The tree wonders

Years pass

Times change

But the tree, it waits

That boy returns

With little ones

He does not go to the tree

But the memories come back

A boy went from

Youth to

Adulthood

The tree remembers

That child waves

Goodbye

For the last time
